Let Your Middle Schoolers Campaign For Better Culture
With all of the changes happening inside of 6th-8th grade students, life can feel out of control. The 6-8 Expedition Guide is designed to give students positive control of their environment. They identify an element of their world that they can and want to improve. Then they create a campaign to make it happen. What could be more empowering than realizing that you can impact the quality of your daily life?
The 6-8 Expedition Guide is divided into six units – Campaign Plan, Be There, Choose Your Attitude, Make Their Day, Play, and Keeping FISH! Alive. The lessons in each unit build upon the theme, giving students opportunities to integrate productive behaviors and connect with each other in new and profound ways.
Depending on your school’s schedule and structure you can do a lesson a day and immerse the class in The FISH! Philosophy, take your time and do a lesson or two a week over several months, building throughout the year, or work together with other teachers to bring all the elements of The FISH! Philosophy to life. It’s your choice. However you approach it, use the Situation Cards, Culture Connections and other tools to keep FISH! alive.
When middle school students feel connected and empowered, they achieve great things.
